OK. That's where I set it when I setup the spec and it is set for 7. I thought that was about the correct amount according to the StoreOnce document I read. I have (2) four-core processors w/ 32GB of ram and (4) Gb nics that are teamed and used server-side deduplication. It seems like if it was configured to worked on one object at a time, it would slow down the entire process. Concurrency allows for other objects to backup at the same time as the slow object.
When I first ran the initial full backup, I used the copy object to put it to tape. That ran nice and fast reading the 7 object at a time and writing them multiplexed to the tape. I am surprised that the consolidation only works on one object. Is there no way to get it to work on more object simultaneously?
