Re: How to take block-level images of disks without getting Section cannot be locked?

Sure, that's where I started... I already told the manual and help are conflicting. The 'raw disk' help says VSS is used, but it isn't. When there is an open file, the image won't be made and gives the above said error.

When I specify either a partition or a whole disk with the given instructions, I don't have any options for VSS other than manipulating omni.rc, but by default VSS should be on according to the manual and I haven't changed any of those settings.

A sidequestion; is DP smart enough to restore single files from disk images of known filesystems like other backup tools can when backuping up our physical fileserver? I know I can witn the granular extensions for VMWare and Hyper-V (and exchange for that matter) but our fileservers are physical. In addition the granular extensions are another license on top of the online extension each of my Hyper-V clusternodes need. All added up makes Dataprotector extremely expensive compared to Veam for example. Trying to get more value for our cash.
