first of all, thank you for your quick reply!

 

Metadata load of the IDB: Logging level is set to "folders only" already.

 

Storage: IBM XIV is running 3.000 iop/s just including backup being taken.

 

Disk active time: Depending on drive, taking file server 1 as an example, it's around 10-25% just. It's interesting to see that active time goes up to 80% or more if I sun "defrag <Drive>: -a.

 

I have not yet updated to 8.12, this is a good hint if you think that idb enhancement will help. Also setting to no log and to backup to null drive is worth to try.

 

I cannot do any testing on Veeam right now. General spreaking, all disks are not much fragmented.

 

Do you think it makes sense to create NUL drive localls on a fileserver? This might give an idea about the performance without Ethernet being involved.
