Thanks Andre. I'm still trying to figure out how to get Data Protector to stop changing the serial number of the Virtual Drives. It's happening on my D2D4106 and my 6500 that we just installed. These drives aren't iscsi, they are connected via FC. The Media Agent is Windows 2008. I read somewhere that setting the HBA to use persistent binding may help this issue. This media server uses EMULEX mini-port HBA's which I"m still trying to find the correct tool that will allow me to set persistent binding. I may just wait until we get a new server installed that we plan to use as an additional media server. It's beefier box that will have Linux installed. I know Linux much better than Windows. In the meantime what I've done is check the "automatically discover changed scsi address" box for each drive. It's annoying though to have the serial number keep changing---there's got to be a way to fix this.
