Re: Backup a deep filesystem on DP 7.0

Data Protector allows you to go 100 levels deep in a directory structure to choose what you wnt to backup

The Disk Image you are referring to (also called a 'Raw Disk' backup) is available when you create a backup specification.  I suggest that , in the GUI, click Help -> Help Topics, and search for "Disk Image Backup" and "Disk Image REstore" (including the " marks) for more information

You cannot restore individual files from a Disk Image backup, only sectors.

"A disk image (rawdisk) restore is a fast restore of a corresponding disk image backup. Data Protector restores the complete image of a disk, sector-by-sector instead of only restoring selected files or directories."
