I haven't had a chance to work with DP 9 yet, but, this does not surprise me. I know of at least one enhancement request to do what you are asking, but, the current method of Excluding/Skipping/INcluding files from the Backup Objects Smmary page has been this way for as long as I have worked with the Omniback/ Data Protector product.
