new day, new problems :)
We have the problem, that all our (free) Tapes (from an MSL 8096) goes blank after a while, only the Tapes where already data is written are remaining. Actually we already open an high prio call at hp, but it seems to take a bit time. So I try this way too.
The actual situation looks like this:
The MSL Device is presented on two data protector cell manager. On the old one and at the new one.
Thats because there are still tapes on protection at the old cell manager, ofcourse we dont "imported" them on the new cell manager. This works pretty fine all the time until now. We upgraded our new cell manager from 8.12 to version 9.
After the first case of all our tapes goes blank, we scaned the tapes and they where fine.
At the second case we must formatted them. But then it was again fine.
Then i see that backup sessions, that want to use new free tapes goes throug all tapes and report:
data protector Medium in device *** cannot be initialized
This he does with every free tape and afterwards they´re all blank. So I thought its the one drive and i disabled it. But as it turned out, its not. We have the same situation agian.
We opend the call at the MSL-Section but after some "LTO Drive Assessment tests" the supporter says it looks more like an data protector problem.
Maybe one of you got an idea.
