Re: Trouble mirroring between tape and disk

Thanks for the reply Bob -- The only instance i've seen of it is here: http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Data-Protector-Support-and-News/different-data-retention-for-tape-and-disk-backup/td-p/5194593#.U-0umO90yUk

Yes -- I am talking about adding a mirror as a destination for a backup (So you end up with two tabs).

So I am certain its possible to do it. I am under maintenance with HP but was hoping it was a quick fix (I'm about to go out on training for a week and a half so I'm just troubleshooting things with no impact right now).

If anyone has any other ideas, would love to hear them!

We're hoping to use the disk backup to keep a short-term 'fast restore' repository so we don't have to get off-site tapes for our users. Since the archive flags are cleared during our daily incrementals, I can't run a second incremental to disk, so mirror is my only option from what I understand.

We're backing up to 2.5TB tapes, and have 4TB of disk backup licenses. If it's wanting to use 6.5 I could see the licensing be an issue, but since our tape media is smaller than our disk media.. I would hope that's not the case.
