Thanks Ales? for you comments,
(1) Thanks for confirming
(2) Point taken. I would not fiddle with logging but I have troubles with SOS finishing backup jobs, once again I got Cannot close device (Unrecognized StoreOnce Error) and backup was not successfull. I cannot ask HP support, I am evaluating DP 9.0 before we invest in it. We also would like to pay for professional services to help us setup DP correctly but HP is slow to propose anything, any suggestions are welcome. We are located in Central Europe.
(3) thanks for clarification
(4) so, in theory, can I trigger housekeeping with omnidbutil -purge-daily? I removed all sessions and exported all D2B store media, started omnidbutil -purge-daily but no space was freed
(5) My store is once again in bad state, but this time it was fixed by deleting the store. The other time I had to reinstall SOS.
[6652] 2014-09-10 15:54:55.354 ERROR failed starting the store: ( class dedupe::store::StoreStateException: Exception [StoreStateException]: thrown in (src\corededupe\store\Store.cpp:1473 dedupe::store::Store::checkStateMachineEvent)

with your help I need to reinitialize it:
C:\Me>storeoncesoftware --list_stores
Store Name: Files
Store Id: 1
Store Description: Data protector store
Store Status: stopped
Store Autostartable: ON
Store Readonly: OFF
User Data Stored: 460 GB
Store Data Size: 0 B
Deduplication Ratio: 0.0 : 1
Listing of the stores succeeded.
C:\Me>storeoncesoftware --delete_store --name=Files
The store Files has been deleted successfully.
Now the size of store root folder dropped from 257GB to 22kb (there are no other stores)
C:\Me>sc stop storeoncesoftware
C:\Me>sc start storeoncesoftware
No log entries, I hope store is clean.
Another test to backup files into this store, will post details here tommorrow. Today, I will run the job disk by disk.
Kind regards, Jan
