No mailbox database copy can be selected for restore - DP 6.21 - Exchange 2010

Hi all I have been trying to restore an Exchange 2010 Sp2 RU6 mailbox for a user via restoring the database file only to a temporary location option from within a DP 6.21 full exchange 2010 backup. I had been in touch with HP but have found out since our SAID is expired so hoping someone in this forum could asist.

I will try and load as much info as I can regarding the environment and what has been done so far, just changing domain & server names for posting.

The environment is a Windows AD containing a Windows 2003 R2 SP2 x86 Cell Manager and a Windows 2008 R2 x64 standalone non DAG Exchange 2010 SP2 RU6 mail server. The backup unit is a HP library and media is LTO4. We do not have single mailbox option or GRE.

I have tried restoring from one particular full backup that was successfully taken and tried from more recent backups as well with the same failed result.

Data Protector version and patches installed per server:

I have applied SSPNT621_007 to the cell manager and exchange server as advised by HP Support when call was in progress.

No mailbox database copy can be selected for restore/instant recovery.

[Normal] From: RSM@ssg-mgmt1.ourdomain.local ""  Time: 21/10/2014 8:32:31 AM
 OB2BAR application on "ex1.ourdomain.local" disconnected.

I have run a check on the IDB and no errors have been reported.

Restoring to a new mailbox database and also selecting to restore into a recovery mailbox database gives the same errors. I had created the recovery mailbox database on the exchange server and set the option to allow overwrite.

The location I am trying to restore to has enough free space to receive the restore file.

Not sure what else I can try.

Regards,

Stuart
