I don't know if you have a Barcode reader, or if teh tapes are bar-coded. When you Format a tape in DP, you have 3 choices for the label
- INput the label your self
- Let DP do it, let labeel will be the name of the media pool with _some number
- Barcode lable
One method is not inherently 'Better' ahan another
I am also in total agreement with the Force Operation option that you identified, any tape not fresh out of the box needs to have this option enabled
