Yes, you need a StoreOnce Catalyst License on the D2D Device to create a Store (don't have one myself, just skipped through the manual...)
Unless you have all Storage used up this should be possible to be created parallel to the VTL.
For DP this should be Licensed via the normal Advanced Backup to Disk License
So the same as for VTL, unless you use the Classic Library & Tapedrive Licenese there.
