In the global file both teh parameters are there:
SmWaitForNewBackupClientSec=1200
SmWaitForFirstBackupClientSec=1200
Even though it didn't wait for 1200 secs backup failed in 600 secs only but no message like earlier
Bar backup session was started but no client connected
in 600 seconds.
Aborting session
