Hi,
But DP don't allow to recycle the media under permanent protection in Media Pool.
Hi ,
Thanks for suggestion. But Problem is a little bit complicated.
As the permission for file is OK. We take this backup Daily. And this kind of problem comes after 40 to 50 days Gap. And every time we get the same error. All other time it completed successfully. So the problem is that we don't know why the Problem repeats after 40 or 50 days. (While the permission for files are OK, No change in password or user's permissions)

Hello,
I have installed DP 8.0 on my test server running Windows Server 2012. The installation has succeeded, DP has added exceptions to my Firewall and I added those new ports introduced by version 8 to firewall inbound and outbound(?) rules as well. DNS forward and reverse lookup is working properly and according to omnisv status, all services are up and running. But then I open GUI, I am presented with the error messages attached as screenshots.
Below the restults of omnidbcheck. I have resintalled DP already, with the same result :-(
Anyone has an idea?

Hi,
I'm testing the MSSQL Integration Agent and am getting some strange results. Whenever a backup completes the following message is displayed:
Database statistics:
--------------------------------------------------------------
1. model 1 MB 1 min (5751 MB/h)
2. msdb 13 MB 1 min (24440 MB/h)
3. master 3 MB 1 min (11587 MB/h)
4. TestDB 19626 MB 7 min (166637 MB/h)
Sum: 19644 MB 7 min (70720453 MB/h)
--------------------------------------------------------------
I'm fairly sure that the 'Sum:' isn't correct. Does anyone elese see this?
Thanks,
John
Hello John,
what leads you to the assumption that "sum" is incorrect? The sum matches with sum of 1-4. The MB/s next to sum is incorrect or misleading but the same weird number is next to my summary, see screenshot attached. Backups are consistent, so I am not concerned.
If it's not that, please can you explain the issue in more detail?
Thank you JB for your reply.
i will set the value to a combined value for both the media pool and it's free pool. (Currently 70 media available across both pools). I'll set the value to 300 and see if I get a notification.
Thanks again.
Adam
Hi Chris,

Hi Chris,
That was precisely my query. I'm not too worried with the MB/h figure since I know my backups (and restores) are working, I just wondered if anyone else was experiencing this.
John

Prior to this I had to disable the Windows robotics drivers, because the devices were showing claimed by HP.
So I did the following;
On Windows, robotics drivers are automatically loaded for enabled tape libraries. To use the library robotics with Data Protector on a Windows system, disable the respective Windows driver.
Services are running, and devices are present.
FYI This same MSL6000 worked with a older machine running dp5.50, I can't go and look at that config because DP5.50 is corrupted

Deleting Volume Shadow Copies and releasing the volumes.
I do have agent on version 7.01, still get the same error.
any other ideas?
Hi,
I have DP 7.01 running on a Win2008r2. Im backing up Win2012 Hyper-v VMs via integration agent, after the backup a snapshot is left on the VM, no errors on backup and no incremental option enable. This happens on all of my VMs and is consuming lots of space. fortunately Windows 2012 can merge disk online but i have to do this in a daily basis.
note: Same DP has no option for Incremental backups on a Windows 2008R2 cluster
Any solution?
For a better understanting I uploaded a sequence of pictures:
Before backup --> no snapshot
Backup source VM
No incremental option selected --> there is no overall incremental for this VM in any other specification
backup starts on DP --> check time it starts creating the snapshot
backup starts, view from hyper-v --> time is closely the same as the one on the previous pic
will continue on the next post, Cant upload more than 5 pics at a time
and here the last pics
backup ending in DP --> states that it deletes the volume shadow copies
backup end view from hyper-v --> there is a snapshot left behind after the backup is 100% complete.
Data protector left this snapshot, it does the same on every Virtual machine I backup.
Any solucitions/ideas or has anyone faced the same issue?
regards,
Juan Quesada
Hi.
You need to follow some steps to make the target Linux server trust your installation server. For more information, refer to the section titled 'Remote installation using secure shell' in the DP installation guide. Essentially, you'll need to add the IS server's public key to the list of authorized keys on the target.
