Thanks a lot for your response about it. According that, I found a document where explains on this integration with a tool named 'Autonomy LiveVault' and in page 6 speaks on integration that is made with this tool using web services. Here is the link of this document.

Create tickets automatically in Service Desk from HP Data Protector
Hi. good afternoon.
I have a question about HP Data Protector, the scenario we need is the following: when there is an event of backup success or failure, Data Protector via web services generate a ticket (incident) this results in a help desk that supports web services my question is whether Data Protector is supported with web services or event notification to users via email?

Poor Media (Media Attention)
Hello Team,
While taking backup media is getting poor,
media those are getting failed either having minimum overwrittes or 0, is it due to this.
How to increase writes and overwrites of media???

Yes, the backup works fine but since 2 Weeks this error appear. Changed it yesterday for a test on a MSL Device and got the same error:

If this might be important (i guess not):
The backup includes 2 Nodes (1 Windows Cluster), but we installed the data protector client in the "cluster unaware mode". So in this one backup we just save the two nodes.

Error While upgrading linux client from HP Dataprotector (rexec and rcp commands failed)
Hello Experts,
I am running HP Data Protector 7.0 (BDL 703) version 107.
I am trying to upgrade linux client using installation server, and getting below error:-
Critical: <servername> Could not connect tothe remote client.
Connection attempts with rexec and rcp failed...
Critical: <servername> Error connecting to client...
Skipping client!
I checked whether the port 5555 is open using telnet command from server and client side, it is open. However, backup of these machines are running fine.
I am not sure what else should be checked in this scenario. Appreciate if someone can suggest.

LiveVault is an Application that provides an Web-Based API to coordinate Backup and Restore, not related to your request.

Data Protector 9 with VMWare Exsi 5.5
Hi,
I get the PDF HP Data Protector Software Version: 9.00 Integration Guide, but I'm not abled to use Virtual Environment features. Can someone help me or indicate me a real documentation for Data Protector 9 with VMWare integration ? I read some documentation for DP6.20 with old version of Exsi and it cannot applicate same for DP9 + Exsi 5.5.

Installation server and client are in same subnet , communicating on port 5555. I re checked it using telnet.
I have their entries in their respective host files.

Does the "Connecting to client" Part of the Upgrade work or does it consider the Client as a new System to be installed?
Have you tried enabling SSH Installation in omnirc-File? (OB2_SSH_ENABLED=1)

The Virtualization Guide is a part of the Integratio Guide Part5 Chapiter 17. So I already try the instructions with client importation way, the client host can be list, but it doesn't work. Not possible to add backup definition.
And about the compatibility, I think it is ok.
We just want to compare the performance between the common Disk agent backup and Virtualisation environment backup. But I see that the virtualisation environment backup is a little bit complex to integrat.

I assume you only imported the vCenter Server as vmwarehost to the Cell with Credentials that have sufficient privilleges in vSpere.
You also need a BackupHost that manages the VMware-Backup, that Server needs the Virtual Environment Agent installed and ideally also the Media Agent. This BackupHost also schould be zoned to see all ESX Datastores (assuming SAN-Environment here).
During Backup-Config you then simply select the vCenter as Client and your MediaServer/BackupHost as Backup-Host.
After that the BackupHost queries the vCenter (with the Credentials given during vCenter import) and lists the available Datacenters afterwards.

needs some preparation, that is true
for me it makes it up with very good Backup-Performance and almost no impact on the VMs
currently read around 700GB/h over two MediaServers, more would be possible.
With the DiskAgent in the VMs we easily filled up the CPU, RAM and NICs on the ESX; nothing left for customer during Backup.
With VEAgent Backup the only things under stress are the BackupHost/MediaServer and the SAN-Disks.
