hello I have HP Data Protector 9.06 and configured integration with vmware 6 .
I have also installed 9.31 hp navigator .
I need to create daily reports backup status of each virtual machine but do not see the option or reporting data protector or navigator
Can somebody help me?

Hi , I have configured HP Data Protector 9.06 integration with vmware 6 U2.
the vcenter is the appliance vcenter in linux ( VCSA ) .
I've done all steps of the configuration:
1.Installing vmware granular recovery agent in virtual environment integration on a server.
2. imported vCenter and ESX
3. GRE added adavanced web plug -in
on the Web client does not appear in mange the tab hp data protector .
from the client web client management plugin, the plugin does not appear

From session output it seems that SMIS failed to present volume (replica of RC_MgBsBckpS01_VeeamCatalog_V ) from array “3Par7400Rcvr1” to host mgbsbckps01.guidestone.org as user 3parDataProtector.
Check if you can do this manually (especially check if host is configured on array).
Otherwise enable logging for failing session and open a support call.

Calculation is changed in 9.06, there is unique dataset identifier on which the calculation is based now.
It also includes object copy versions and objects with status completed with errors/failures. So that's most likely where the difference comes from.

A few quick words before to our HP DP Environment: We're using a W2k12R2 Cluster as CS with two additional physical linux servers for VE-Integration and a MSL8096 Tapelib hosting 4 LTO6 drives. Everything is connected via 8gb SAN and 10GB Ethernet respectively.
Now the troubl-ish part: For a few weeks now the SCSI paths to the tapelib seem to run rampart and even with "automatically discover changed scsi address" option checked there are always "dead" paths that are shown as valid option (see screenshot attached).
However when starting a object-copy-to-tape, DP tries to take those paths, recognizes that theyre dead, but thats it then. No switching to another tape drive or scsi path, the session just hangs with the drive(s) claimed. This leads to multiple failures of following jobs as the drives are all occupied.

I am looking to enable Encrypted Control Communications within our version 9.00 DP environment.
Is anyone able to comment on whether enabling this feature has impact to the performance, speed, or any aspect of the backups associated with it? ..
I assume that the encryption occurs on the Cell during backup which I would assume would hit the CPU quite hard?
Also are there any addotional network ports to consider when enabliong this?
I have also read that backing up the ECC confirg files before enabling this would be a good practice as a backout of anything failed etc?
Any comments or info would be appreciated

Have installed a fresh DP9.06 cell manager.
VMware 5.5 - DP agents installed plus the vmware integration. web plug installed as well.
Run the vsphere web client and we can see the "HPE Data Protector" tab. When we click in it, we get a small box to select the cell manager then it disappears. Screen is just blank....
can go out then back in. Same issue. Have restarted vsphere web services. same issue.
We are using IE 8.
Anyone seen this issue?

I'm trying to add extra virtual tapes to my VTL's as I'm constantly getting mount point requests. I have 4 VTL's with 4000 tapes in each VTL.
How do I increase this to say 6000 tapes in the VTL?
Any help would be appreciated.

have you added the extra slots to the actual VTL appliance? ie....VLS or Storeonce ?
If so then in DP you need to add the 4001-6000 in the repository tab and click Add. Then do a barcode scan...
