I did it but not after discovering what I was doing wrong, I hope what follows helps someone outhere.
So I was trying to add the library, but for some reason I wasn't able to do this automatically, the only thing that could be added was a drive.
As only a drive could be seen by Dataprotector I wonder if I could drag & drop the drive to a library, the answer its not; also I can not add a library and add later that drive, that isn't the way this things work.
But, at that moment I've realized that my library was missing so when I try to add a library using the SCSI address found in my other server, I received the error "No robotic device detected". After searching a while for this error I found out the command "devbra -dev", which should show me the drive and the charger.
And Changer was the keyword, specifically I found out that the medium charger device was missing from device manager, I don't remember the reason but at that point I decided to add the another path to the fabric.
You see, I have the MSL4048 connected by two fibers, One connection per fabric and I have 2 Fabrics, so I haven't zonified the second fabric as I understood that wasn't need it at that point, but inmediatly after I zonified the second fabric the Charger Appeared in the Device Manager and of course everything was as smooth as posible.

The MSL2024/4048/8048/8096 and MSL6480 present the Changer on the first drive (by default). Related to drives used, firmware and licenses you are able to see the Changer only on a single port of that drive or only on the first port. This might explain the trouble. If you see the Changer twice (due to Zoning), you could add the alternate device path to the library configuration for basic redundancy.

you're right. The current version of the VSA allows you to add 1TB disk files (VMDK for VMware, VHDX for HyperV) to build your virtual backup appliance. The VSA will aggregate this capacity into one file system. You start with 1TB and can scale up to 50TB based on the StoreOnce VSA license.

Hi quiz,
not all Data Protector A.09.06 binaries on UNIX/Linux report the proper version while the internal build was correctly incremented. I've asked support to look into this. Generally speaking if you're at build 107 or 108 you should be fine. Expect that this will be resolved in a future version.

Hi enriquerocha,
tape is a sequential backup media. If a session or object on that sequential backup media expires (could be recycled, session removed, protection expires) it remains on tape as long as other protected objects exist. You can append to the media until full. If all sessions/objects on the media are expired it can reused (completly).

(DP) Support Tip: Removal of Mount Proxies from the VMware GRE Web Client
Data Protector does not have an option to remove a mount proxy from the VMwareGRE environment..
You can edit cell_info file to remove mount proxy:
- make copy of cell_info file to temporary location
- open cell_info file in text editor
- find machine that you don't want to be proxy anymore
- remove "-vmwaregre_agent A.09.00 " from this line
Please note:
When you get "Loading" screen in Web Plugin, it hangs forever.
So, after you edit cell_info file, you have to restart vsphere-client service.

To use atdd device , mksf command is executed to create Passthrough device file but it failed .
[Workaround]
IBM suggests using native operating system device driver (stape on HP-UX) for IBM tape drive .
So, mksf command doesn't expect atdd .
.omnirc variable OB2SAFEINQUIRY=0 can be set on the HP-UX server where the tape device is connected .
It makes DataProtector skip the step of mksf and directly access the related device file. (ex. /dev/rtape/tape169_BESTn)

Hi I have Data Protector 9.06, on a VMware backup specification I am experiencing this problem.
The session never ends, always running and is indicated in the last message is:
Completed Media Agent.
Other tasks terminate properly
How can i solve this?

When I create an object copy specification or go to that part of the menu there is no delay, it is only when I do something about the part of Backup

Hello Sebastian,
Our system is not running in faileover state, but on couplet one we are able to see a federated store over 2 node online and working whit just one node zoned.
This dosen't work on couplet 2, whit one node zoned we see only the store from the zoned node.
I will aasigne kudu and set the case to resolve.

Hi mainland,
in case you actually have this issue try to kill the vepa_bar.exe on the VEPA backup host. Then BSM will finish the session with failures. I had this in 3 customer sites. While my support case is still open (for a permanent fix) I can tell you that this omnirc parameter on the VEPA backup host resolved the issue for us.

I would not recommend this since the next push upgrade on the client will detect, upgrade and bring the component back to cell_info. You need to remove the component from the client locally for a permanent solution.

URGENT - Restore Issue on DP 9.06 - No objects are available for selected backup method
Hello All,
We just upgraded from 9.04 to 9.06.
ESXi ver is at 5.5U2.
Backups are running fine. IDB is perfect. All sessions are present.
I am not able to restore neither change the Backup method from vStorage Image.
All I see is "No objects are available for selected backup method" when I am trying a vm restore.
Please help!! Thx in advance!
