I moved the files, later choose verify in the media, then choose export and the media dissapeared freeing the space.
Also the media were created again but with space 0 but you can just delete those files too.

In case of the file library you need to wait until the protection of the media expires OR change the protection on the session to None. You could also Recycle the media in question. The next backup that uses the file library will remove the old media (from disk and IDB) before writing new data.

Hi Syedfurquan,
the 3PAR VSS provider requires you to save the array certificate to a file to identify the system. This is usually stored in %USERPROFILE%\.hp3par.
Saving a Certificate File to a Directory To save a certificate exception file to a directory where the CLI server will look for certificate information. When the CLI server certificate is not verified by the certificate file, then the CLI looks for this information in the certificate exception file. - The -certdir global option. - The TPDCERTDIR environment variable.
Check the 3PAR CLI manual for details on how this is done.

Before we dig deeper, are you aware where the HPE Data Protector plugin is hidden in the vCenter web client? You need to select any VM in vCenter => Manage.

Hi guys
I have a data protector 7.03 and I was testing the disk image backup option, my question is if we can restore an image disk to different location, because data protector doesn't allow me to select a different one:
but it only allows me to select a different client target.
Also, in VCSA, enable all firewall ports,
iptables -P INPUT ACCEPT
iptables -P OUTPUT ACCEPT
iptables -P FORWARD ACCEPT
iptables -F
OR disable the firewall.
While this is Data Protector A.09.07 you can select client for restore on the Destination tab and Restore As on the Source tab. There you can specifiy which block device should be overwritten.

Thank you so much for your hints, i will see tomorrow.
I know that i should enter in the vm page to see the HPE DP tab.
BR,
Mihai.
thanks for the help!
Great. While the firewall change is mandatory for this to work, it will not resolve the missing tab. In this case I would recommend restarting the vCenter web client service on the VCSA (/etc/init.d/vsphere-client restart) and check what related information is logged in the virgo log after logging into web client and locating the plugin/tab.
grep com.hp /storage/log/vmware/vsphere-client/logs/vsphere_client_virgo.log
If nothing happens, try to unregister and register from Data Protector while looking at the log.
tail -f /storage/log/vmware/vsphere-client/logs/vsphere_client_virgo.log | grep com.hp

Thanks Stewart, that worked for me.
Hi Alex,
to make a long story short, the current GRExtensionGuides.pdf (9.07) includes everything we need to know.
To make this work, do the following:
I hope this works for you and we can finally close this topic. Thanks for assigning a few kudos. I would really appreciate it :)

Thx for answer.
I have noticed that if drive is configured for target client (lets say client B) then DP will automaticaly start restore MA on client B.
Have the same Problem. At my Installation its Only the 2008 R2 Server with this Problem. Then 2012R2 and the VCenter haven´t this Problem
Your post is very useful, but my problem is not fixed :(
When I launch the GUI, it don't show Loading, I can go to "About" in order to check versions, but when I try to access the settings (to set my mount proxy), "Loading" appears... And all the GUI is stuck
We won't give up that easy. :) Try to clean the following directories and restart vSpehre Web client. If it fails, we need full virgo.log from the vCenter server. Then we can decide where to enable INET debugging. Ok?
OmniBack\Config\Server\Integ\Config\VMware OmniBack\Config\client\VMWareGRE OmniBack\tmp\VMWareGRE

Hi Axel,
this issue is UNIX specific that will be resolved in QCCR2A69064. If a Windows client reports the wrong version, it must be upgraded. Maybe you're able to share a screenshot or command output with us.

Don't work :(
How can I proceed to give you the virgo.log file ?
