It seems I can restore from a full, but not an Incremental.
Session is waiting for some of devices to get free.
I have licenses
# DP Cell Manager for Windows and # DP Single Drive for Windows
Help me understand whats the problem.
Thanks
So i'm still using DP 7.03. I know its old and its something we plan to upgrade, anyway I have a file library made of 4 x 2TB drives, and all 4 are basically full. If you look in devices in media at some of them as an example in one of the 2tb drives I have the following files and the sizes next to them which adds up to 1342.58GB
f00b320a557fbd72b507cc50a37 - 1287.64
f00b320a5581132a1507cc51258 - 8.04
f00b320a55813922f507cc51338 - 0.01
f00b320a55813c732507cc5136d - 19.75
f00b320a5581794be507cc514c7 - 8.28
f00b320a5581240af507cc512ad - 18.86
so i should roughly have 700GB still free, but when i look at the directory view in DP it says i have 0.015 available disk space. And if i look at the server hosting the drive, i can see this disk has only 15MB free.
I think this has happened over time by deleting old media and DP hasn't cleaned itself. Do you know i can manually delete files not associated to the jobs above. i.e. can i delete all fd files in that folder that aren't listed above? Also I have a DFMFRespository in that folder with lots of .rr and .rl files and 2 folders starting with rp_f00bxxxxxxxxx with lots of folders in like D000, D00A, D00B etc.
any advice greatly appreciated

Hello everybody,
a server that was hosting a StoreOnce Software Dedup Store has crashed. The hardware is getting replaced tomorrow. How do I go about restoring the data? I have backups on a NAS that was connected via iSCSI to the crashed server. Here is what I think should work:
Am I correct? Will that work?
Thanks in advance
Hi,
In my environment (cell manager 9.08 - VM), I have 2 cell managers for primary and DR site. In DR situation, how should I perform backup for virtual, physical environment.
Should I import all clients, backup specifications, schedule in DR site cell manager? Or configure DR site devices such as store once, MSL tape in primary cell manager in DR site ?
If yes, can I perform backup to DR site devices from 2 cell manager?
Or,is there any other way to do that ?
I know it's not a standard solution because I don't have store once replication license and in DR situation, data will be restored from offsite tape backup.
Thanks

Hi Bob,

What can i do to solve this issue?

The below command will go through the list of media in the pool "Example Pool" and attempt to reset the poor flag from any media that has this flag enabled.
/opt/omni/bin/omnimm -list_pools "Example Pool" -detail |awk -F ": "\
'/identifier/{t=$2};/Status/{print t $2};/Poor/{system("/opt/omni/bin/omnimm\
-reset_poor_medium " t)}'
(The "-reset_poor_medium" will only clear the poor flag if it was set due to a failure in the drive. If the tape is marked poor because it has exceeded the maximum overwrites or reached its end of life as per the pool conditions, then the flag will not be cleared)
Hi,
have you tried "omnimm -delete_unprotected_media -all" ? See if that helps....sounds like media is not being deleted within the depot.
I didn't know if that was just for backup to disk devices and not file library?
As i know normally one of teh first things that happen when you start a file library backup is that it deletes expired media, but I will try and anyway and let you know if it works.
Thanks
Hallo!
Some times ago I started with EADR for our Microsoft Failover Cluster Nodes.
Our Strategy was to restore a node if our Failover Cluster would be corrupt. But now I want to be able to restore the Cluster Information itself. For example a Cluster Ressource was deleted.
Is their a way to restore only the clusterinformation?
My Backup:
HOST "<Clusterhost>" <Clusterhost> { -nthlink } HOST "<host1>" <host1> { -trees "\" -exclude "CONFIGURATION:\REGISTRY\0.CLUSTER" -nthlink } HOST "<host2>" <host2> { -trees "\" -exclude "CONFIGURATION:\REGISTRY\0.CLUSTER" -nthlink }
Restore with EADR is no problem.
But how can I restore a MS-Failover-Ressource?

Hi,
I need to restore some files from dec '14.
The session is not holding any information about the folder structure of files, because not protected anymore. I tried importing the catalog from tape again but still no folderstructure.
removed the session, exported al the tapes, imported the tapes again, still no folder structure.
Protection is set at 52 weeks of the session after importing the tapes. Size shows 0kb.
What am i doing wrong????
kind regards
I would try this....
go to the "restore" interface in the GUI, then Actions tab and click "list from media"
select the drive and slot you want to view and logging level to "log all". Click finish...
this will start a catalog import session. Leave the GUI, DO NOT EXIT THE GUI AS YOU WILL LOSE THE INFO.
once complete you can then browse through the catalog objects and hopefully recover what you need.
hope this helps!
Hi zitbb,
since the Cell Manager and the IDB is still available the procedure should work ok. The IDB (MMDB) stores the information regarding slots present in the B2D library. Just make sure to restore system.db from system.db.bak when StoreOnceSoftware service is stopped on the client and start it afterwards. It might take a few minutes for the stores to recover. Check StoreOnceSoftware --list_stores output.
I guess the restores you mentioned are just to confirm the data can be read, right?

Hi Dennis,
this sounds like an overload situation happens during nightly backups. Could be related to running out of CPU, memory or network ressources on the involved clients. Could also be releated to running out of available TCP ports between the clients. Is OB2PORTRANGE used?
