yes resolve the VSS issue, use vssadmin to check as well. Possible reboot to clear as well then try again...
Re: Backup error
Re: Got unexpected close from RMA
you are getting a RMA crash therefore I would configure redhat to capture the core file, then send to HP via a support case.
Re: DP9.07: Missing "modified date" after restore
Thanks for the information. I already opened a ticket a few days ago and I will ask for your hotfix.

Data Protector 9.x Operating system supported
Good monring,
We're trying to install Data Protector 9.0 (trial version), and we're reading the HPE Data Protector Installation Guide.
In ths section: Installing a Windows Cell Manager, it says:
The system that will become the Cell Manager must:
l
Have a supported Windows operating system installed. For a list of supported operating systems for the Cell Manager, see
http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/manuals.
I was searching for the proper document, but I was unable to find it.
Someone could provide me the right link to the pdf document for operating systems supported in windows?
Many thanks in advance!
Re: Failure of Encryption Key export
Hi,
Just to clearify, you compared both lists (commandline and cvs) and they are not equal?
If so, you can update to 9.08 to proof the exported list is missing entries, or you need to open a case to let it check by HPE!
I'm on 9.06 at the moment, but want also to update to 9.08 in the next days, it would be nice if you come back with a solution!

Re: Data Protector 9.x Operating system supported
you will find the platform and integration support matrix within the DP software you have. Search for PDFs and you will find it.
Typically for windows you should be installing 2008 R2 or 2012 R2 for the cell manager.
Click KUDOS if this is helpful to you! thanks!
Re: Data Protector 9.x Operating system supported
Hi,
You'll find the PDF files online if you have a license already, or under the folder: "x:\Program Files\OmniBack\Docs".

Re: DP9.07: Missing "modified date" after restore
FYI: for 9.08 (QCCR2A69173)
Re: Hardware Based Encryption
Hi
You should check if you have the same bug like everyone and open a case for getting a hotfix, or update to 9.08 because the encryption error should be fixed with 9.08.
Also take a look at this thread: https://community.hpe.com/t5/Data-Protector-Practitioners/Backup-failure-with-quot-Drive-based-encryption-quot-selected/td-p/6857441

Re: DP9.07: Missing "modified date" after restore
So an upgrade to 9.08 doesn't solve the issue, right?
Because this is what the support team suggested and see if the error is still there ...
Re: Copy job failed , how to resubmit ?
Did you try the following:
Go to "Object operations" -> "Copy" -> "Object copy" -> "Interactive" -> "Media" and mark the media you want to copy and configure the rest (gateway, destination, retention, how to handle the orginal copy/backup).
An other option would be to find out the sessions and to copy the sessions using the interactive session copy.
Re: Changing Object Copy source device using CLI (omniobjcopy)
I guess a support call to HPE is the next step...

Re: Data Protector 9.x Operating system supported

(DP) Support Tip: OB2IPCKEEPALIVE is now set by default as of DP 9.07
The following three OMNIRC environment variables are now configured by default as of DP 9.07
OB2IPCKEEPALIVE=1
OB2IPCKEEPALIVETIME=600
OB2IPCKEEPALIVEINTERVAL=600
(Note that OB2IPCKEEPALIVEINTERVAL has no effect on HPUX - this still needs to be set via OS tcp tunables.)
Re: Manual Cleanup after Restore > PowerOn Dp9.07
Thanks Klopp - will check it and see how it goes.
Re: Manual Cleanup after Restore > PowerOn Dp9.07
no problem mula_e :-)
Re: Manual Cleanup after Restore > PowerOn Dp9.07
Hi,
Just had a look and object seems to still be locked. I guess its some thing else - killed the dpfs and the mount point removed - restore for this particular vm still fails with the same error. During testing i've also rebooted cell manager and also the mount proxy but still same thing. probably something is being written in the db which actually sets an expiry date on the vm not sure though...
Re: HP Data Protector 9.0 Backup to HP StoreOnce NAS Share
Thanks for the reply. Thats the tricky part for me. The dpinet service account appears to be working for everything but the 4210, if thats what its using. When I check the permissions to the NAS share on the 4210 it says its using LDAP for authentication, but how do i know which account is being used? Prior to this position I had limited experience with DP so its probably something just outside of my capabilities.
Re: Manual Cleanup after Restore > PowerOn Dp9.07
yes it would seem that there is some sort of lock. I think HP know it is an issue...
