Hi Sebastian,
Thanks for your response. I should have updated this post to say we did find some JAVA errors eventually which match up with the time when the advanced scheduler stopped running. We are seeing the following error in the server.log at the time the issue occurs - once we have restarted the services it is not longer present:
ERROR [org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.[jboss.web].[default-host].[/jce-dispatcher].[com.hp.im.jce.diaptcher.ws.DispatcherService]] (http--0.0.0.0-7116-38)
Servlet.service() for servlet com.hp.im.jce.dispatcher.ws.dispatcherService threw exception:
org.jboxx.resteasy.spi.UnhandledException:org.jboss.weld.interceptor.proxy.interceptor.proxy.interceptorException:Java.lang.OutOfMemoryError:Java heap space
With this error message passed on, the HP support desk advised to delete and recreate all the schedules in the advanced scheduler to see if that avoids further hangs. We did that yesterday so now we are playing a waiting game to see if we get further hangs in the advanced schedulers, and we'll keep an eye out for JAVA errors.
They did also advise that we should upgrade to 09.08 by default, but to us being only two levels behind at 09.06 doesn't seem like a big deal, unless there are specific fixes in 09.08 which would help with our issue.
Anyway, I will also pass back the defect QCCR2A70785 to see if that stirs up any further help and advice as to a possible fix to this solution. We don't want to have to delete and re-create all advanced schedules every time we have an upgrade!
Thanks,
Andy
